Apple's X11 does not support anything other than TrueColor visuals. It is
not expected that they will support PseudoColor visuals any time soon.
Some solutions:
1) Contact Cadence, and let them know that you're unhappy about being
forced to use a PseudoColor display. For most applications, converting
to support TrueColor is a relatively simple fix.
2) Use VNC. The UNIX vncserver is an in-memory X server. You can run that
in 8-bit PseudoColor mode. You then can use any VNC client (X11 or
Quartz) to view that server and interact with Cadence.
3) Use XDarwin.
