Haroon, I finally found my missing messages, and re-read what there
is about setting paths.

I need /usr/local/bin in my path to start up my window manager of
choice.

Seems to me the problem with doing it using environment.plist is
that (per other mail at this thread) I have to set the entire
path variable there, I can't just append. THis is OK for now,
as I can copy the path that is currently set and append /usr/local/bin
to it. But then the next time you folks rewrite X11, or the OS
is upgraded, and the default path is needed to change, I will
not have the needed changes in my environment.plist.

SO--- How can I just append /usr/local/bin to whatever the system
wants for its PATH prior to launching the window
manager in the sequence of events that follows double-clicking
X11.app? Everything works nicely if I start up X11.app using
an "open" command from a terminal (where I've already added
/usr/local/bin via modified /etc/csh.login).

Thanks...

-Ron Cohen-
