"gs -h | grep x11" returned nothing, so I re-installed the x11 SDK and recompiled ghostscript. However, I get the same result (except that gv does show ghostscript loading some fonts now). So, ghostscript is not building for x11 and I don't have a clue as to why. The only non-standard aspect of my fink installation is that /sw is linked to a directory in another disk partition but that causes no build problems. Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted!

TIA
Jim Hofmann

Did you install the X11 SDK before compiling ghostscript? else it won't contain x11 support, which is needed to display postscript in x apps like gv. open a terminal and type "gs -h | grep x11". if you don't get any output, you have to recompile gs.

I installed ghostscript and gv successfully using fink. However, when I try to view any postscript document gv shows an info window giving the bounding box, but nothing else.
