Hi Edward,

This worked for me with KDE in X11.

All the windows open at the center of the screen:

Control Center-->Window Behaviour-->Advanced

-->Enable Xinerama support
-->Enable window placement support

And then:

Window Behaviour-->Moving-->Placement-->Centered
