I'm a X windows novice, so excuse this post if I asking something
really obvious/silly
I'm trying to run some opengl programs from some linux machines I have
I can sucessfully, from my powerbook execute:-
dipak% glxgears -display linuxbox:0.0
this opens up the glxgears window on the linuxbox
but when I try do the same from linux machine to the powerbook:-
bash$ glxgears -display powerbook:0.0
Segmentation fault
This all works fine between two different linux machines, but not
linux-to-powerbook
I've made sure xhost is set up right and I can run things like xterm,
mozilla etc ok from the linux machines to the X-server on the powerbook
so can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong? Or is it just that apples
X11 doesnt support this feature fully yet...
also the performance of glxgears running locally on the powerbook
(recent tibook 1gz) is about 1000 fps
where the linux performance locally and remotely is about 2500 fps -
can anyone explain this too?
any help/advice would be greatly appreciated,
