I wanted to throw this out there to make sure
I don't get blindsided by this issue. Is there any plans
to add xcb to the Leopard X11 support? I actually hope
the answer is no for the near term. When Fedora 8 came
out everyone found that xview was suddenly broken.
It turned out that previously tolerated code was rejected
by libX11 when xcb was used...

I just wanted to point out the reality that xcb is pretty
bleeding edge in that it enforces a new level of strictness
on libX11 and may cause unknown breakage in old binaries.
In our case, it would break nmrDraw from NMRPipe on Darwin
and the upstream author currently doesn't have a working Mac OS X
system to rebuild his xview darwin binaries.
