Is the source available, and if so, where do we find it and any build instructions? I'd like to take a look at some of the issues I'm having and would be glad to contribute any fixes I find back to this list or wherever appropriate.

Yes! This was actually the entire point of switching to the X.org codebase -- more on that history in a forthcoming email. I'm currently working on getting it to build cleanly, and took a "break" from that to answer email here. I'll continue to read this list and will try to answer any outstanding questions tomorrow.

In the mean time, the source *will* be available at git:// anongit.freedesktop.org/git/xorg/xserver on the branch xorg-server-1.2- apple; you can browse this online at http://gitweb.freedesktop.org/?p=xorg/xserver.git;a=tree;h=xorg-server-1.2-apple;hb=xorg-server-1.2-apple and I will make source tarballs available. Note that this does not yet build correctly -- fixing that is currently my top (personal) priority. I'll post again when I've fixed that, and give further instructions.

(It will also eventually be available from opensource.apple.com along with the rest of the Darwin stuff, but the freedesktop.org codebase will be actively maintained.)
