Yes on both counts, although the copy paste is annoying because the
action of pasting unselects the highlighted text so you can only paste
once.
If not, that would be a reason to use xterm (otherwise iTerm does
that, but has annoying bugs).
Sadly Terminal.app has the same issue on a trackpad, Option-click for
middle mouse button doesn't work. As far as I can tell this is because
the concept of "Option-click" is not system wide on a Mac, but built
into X11. Shame.
