There are two problems with focus. One is with Spaces. One is with
Exposé. The Exposé issue is fixed in 2.2.0_rc1 (rc2 will probably be
out tomorrow if you want to wait). The spaces issue still exists, but
it's fine if you keep all your X11 windows in one space. Plus, Tiger
didn't have spaces, so you're not loosing any functionality by going
up to Leopard... unfortunately you can't take full use of one of
Leopard's new features, though =/

Spaces does not work well with X11. The expos? issue is fixed as of
2.2.0_rc1. You do not have 2.1.4 installed on your system. Your X11
was downgraded when you installed the 10.5.2 or security update.
Please be aware that you will need to reinstall X11 after OS updates
if you want to stay current.
Thanks for that, I somehow didn't realize I needed to do that. I just
reinstalled 2.1.4 and it now shows:
XQuartz 2.1.4 - (xorg-server 1.3.0-apple10)
I don't know that I've noticed any major issues when using expose'.
The one major problem I've had since upgrading to 10.5 is the window
manager losing track of the windows. Or maybe the latter is so much
more annoying that everything else seems small by comparison. At
least for me, this is the one major issue that makes me wish I didn't
yet upgrade to 10.5, since I make heavy use of X.
Thanks for your work. I'm sure it's difficult unravelling all these
issues.
