There is a series of ColorWells that begin all showing

When I build & run it, sometimes all the backgrounds

Ideas?
Are you trying to say that the application you wrote for Panther
behaves differently when you recompile it for Tiger? Does it behave
differently when you just run the Panther version on Tiger without
recompiling?
It's possible that Xcode 2.0's newer version of gcc is exposing hidden
bugs in your code. Does your code compile without warnings? If there
are warnings, what do they say?
It's hard to tell from your description whether this is a difference in
Cocoa in Tiger, or a difference in gcc and Xcode, or a bug in your code
that's just been exposed by rebuilding in with newer compiler.
