You have a fair point, but Mac OS devs make software available for public
use so that Steve Jobs can stand there on stage and tell everyone how many
thousand software titles are available for Mac OS (and use that as a reason
why people should pay Apple for new hardware and mac os x upgrades). Put
another way, Apple doesn't see any returns from a video production made by
FCP, but Apple absolutely benefits from developers that stay and develop for
Mac OS.
Anyway, to get back on topic, if Xcode is touted to take us into the future
of Mac OS X, then I should be able to hear if Xcode can suit my needs that
CW did.
