Really? How many is too many? 200? 500? 5000?
The UI in Xcode seems very flexible and able to accommodate a *lot* of
settings. Put them in a group "Rare/Infrequently Used" or something.
You have the nice search feature, etc. Just seems like Xcode is
designed to handles lots of flags and settings.
It would certainly make my life easier. I'd surprised if I was the only
one.
We do try to make the commonly use or important settings visible in
the UI. In the case above, the desire was to have the behavior on by
default (and therefore not need custom UI for the setting), but we
didn't get there for Xcode 2.1.
Regardless, I could see people wanting the opposite behavior, so it'd
seem to be it should be visible in the UI.
I feel all too often like I'm fumbling in the dark with Xcode trying to
hunt down some obscure flag or setting that is not in the UI. Makes me
uncomfortable. Less so today than with 1.5 and earlier. But nonetheless
it's one thing that doesn't feel good about Xcode.
