That's pretty neat!  But it took me a little bit to get working, so
here's a few more details for others.

For the 'filter' field, put "/Developer/Tools/DeRez $(FILE) /System/
Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Headers/Carbon.r -useDF".  If that
entry is at all wrong, FileMerge fails silently.  Do or don't use the '-
useDF' flag, depending on whether your resources are new style or old
style.  I don't see any way to invoke DeRez to work with either. :(
