Just a note -- I use CodeWarrior to compile my Windows stuff... I
have no idea if Visual Studio does this for you. Do you think I
should still file a bug?
You can still file it -- there's never any harm in filing a bug --
but I think we'd be more likely to change the behavior if the most
widely used compiler on Windows also did this. Otherwise I think
it's likely we'll keep things as they are, since there are reasons
for not emitting the emms.
