Graphite is included with Tiger and you should be able to
reinstall its package from the Tiger media.
Hmm, I wonder, is it inside an archive on the install media? If
it's supposed to be in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ on the
install disk, it isn't there. (In fact, PBCatSearch tells me there
is no occurrence of filename "Graphite.framework" on the media at
all - visible or invisible, within a package or not.)
Double hmm...I wonder if -that's- the problem: the framework
actually -isn't- on this media (CD sets, not DVD, which is
slightly unusual I suppose) and was never installed to begin with.
I don't believe I've attempted to use Sampler since before Tiger
came out, so this could easily have lain dormant for well over a
year.
The .pkg files contain what will be installed (depending on your
customization, of course). Just do an 'lsbom' on the .pkg/Contents/
Archive.bom files to find the file you are looking for.
You wouldn't find Graphite.framework on the install media as
itself, unless the installer or something in the basic system
needed it. Even if it were present, it might be a bad idea to copy
that version, rather than use the one in the .pkg file.

I believe the sequence that removes the Graphite Framework is:
- Install Tiger
- Install Xcode 2.0
- Upgrade to Xcode 2.1.
- uninstall
- Install Xcode 2.1 again
or something like that. In any case, you should be able to run the
uninstall-devtools.pl script from the Xcode 2.4 disk, and then
install Xcode 2.4, and it should be fixed. However, it has been
almost a year since I debugged and fixed this problem, so I may not
be remembering exactly right.
