Ah, thank you Chris.  I'd forgotten about that.

Usually, when I drag a framework into the project's "External Libraries and Frameworks", Xcode makes a corresponding entry in "Link Binary with Libraries". So I forget it's there. But sometimes, it doesn't. Indeed that was the problem in this case.
