I should have been more clear. The files inside the *.xcodeproj package. Namely the .pbxproj files. Mine start with this:

// !$*UTF8*$!

and go on with other stuff like this:
4311439609D0B54300D6A4DC /* libhdf5_hl.0.0.0.dylib in Frameworks */ = {isa = PBXBuildFile; fileRef = 4311439209D0B54300D6A4DC /* libhdf5_hl.0.0.0.dylib */; };
