Have you filed a request for this in Radar?

Xcode is currently unusable for our codebase because our development
model is slightly different from what it expects.  I won't go into
details here (look for other threads by me for details).  But
everything would work if it were just a little bit more configurable.

I love the simplicity of xcode, but it's a little bit too constraining.

Simplicity? I find it far less simple that CodeWarrior, and generally more configurable.
