Folks should try Xcode 3.0 and provide feedback on it.
Believe me, I'd love to. But I'm not in a position to pay $500 to
give it a shot. Anyone want to send a check to apple in my name? :)
It's really too bad that software that apple is giving away for
free requires paying to beta test it for them. It seems backward
compared to most companies products. I'm going to assume that Xcode
3 requires 10.5 and _that's_ what I'd be paying to try.
Sort of. You'd also be paying for a couple of DTS incidents and such.
Personally, I think anyone who files a bug that gets fixed should be
given access to seeds as long as he signs an NDA. The current system
just seems silly to me. You do Apple a favor by filing a bug. They
fix it and ask you to do them another favor by testing their fix,
which you can only do if you or your employer has paid them at least
$500. Note that $500 gets you five seed keys, so it's not a bad deal
if there is a group of you that use them, but if it's just you, $500
seems like a lot to do them a favor.
BTW, why did we even get on this thread? Feature requests for Xcode
should be filed in Radar, and it's almost certain that the feature
set of Xcode 3 is fixed by this point.
