I did manage to recover ".o" files for the deleted sources. Is
there any way to decompile those back into usable files?

You're better off using your sources from 3 weeks ago than trying to
work backwards from the .o files.
Roll back the code and live and learn I'd say. At least it's not as
bad as it initially sounded. :)
