CodeWarrior's and XCode are two different products by two different
teams. I find things that I preferred about each environment. For
example, I find the XCode build system to be much, much more flexible
than that of CodeWarrior. We used to set up a build process around
CodeWarrior that used AppleScript and our own CodeWarrior plug-ins to
get all the parts of our application built. The same tasks can be
accomplished through XCode with pretty straightforward shell script
build phases.
You have legitimate complaints about XCode, but I've found the folks
on the XCode development team to be remarkably responsive. I would
encourage you to send your XCode feedback to email@hidden
. And be sure to file enhancement bug reports at
bugreport.apple.com. Perhaps with some patience, you might see some of
your dearest wishes incorporated into the application in the future.
As for one wish in particular, improved syntax highlighting, I invite
you to look at the screen shots at the URL below and draw whatever
conclusions you may from them:
