Hi Steve,
Steve Checkoway a écrit :
One does not need to use Xcode. As you say, Xcode does set environment variables, but it also shows a transcript of _exactly_ which
environment variables it sets and which commands it issues. However, in this case, the easiest thing to do is just read the documentation
<http://developer.apple.com/documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/cross_development/Using/chapter_3_section_2.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/20002000-1114311-BABGCAAB
> which tells you how to do it.
I'll have another look, thanks for the link :-)
Just use the 10.3.9 SDK in /Developers/SDKs and compile on tiger
using gcc 4.0.1.
You can believe me, we tried : the build was perfect. But no way to
launch the application :-/
Now I'm confused. You got it to build using the 10.3.9 SDK but you couldn't launch the application?
Well, we think we have not too much problem (including me) to build on
Mac OS X from 10.3 to 10.5 ( dev version).
And, yes, we got it to build on Tiger, using 10.3.9 SDK but we couldn't
launch the application.
My interpretation is we found the main environment variables BUT we
forgot something.
We spent a week with Christian Lohmaier who did the builds, + me to test
and trace: the application simply didn't launch, and after some tests,
it seems the sal (System Abstraction Layer ) was the cause. We didn't
investigate more since, but if you say *it is possible* we will for sure
give it a try again.
Why not?
Don't know why, but I guess something is wrong with the build
What were the error messages?
I'll try to retrieve all those informations (please be patient, it will
need some time ).
But it would be great to build from 10.4 with 10.3 target. Really
Regards,
Eric Bachard
