However, if you'll notice on <http://developer.apple.com/iphone/
program/>, it says that the technical requirements are an intel
processor-based Mac.
Of course, it says that in a footnote for which there is no
corresponding footnote mark in the text and the footnote itself is
written in smaller font in grey text on a grey background so you can
probably be forgiven for missing it.
