Or maybe Apple should be more reasonable about its prerelease
software.
Joey, the iPhone SDK is under NDA. This means that even though
anyone can sign up and download it, there are no public ways to ask
for help. All you can really do is submit feedback and hope that
someone responds in a reasonable about of time.
Its really sub-optimal.
It won't be long before Apple make iphone public. All you have to do
is make a few strong suggestions (complaints? :D) to Apple about it.
Just ask them to hurry up with making the SDK public. I'm sure if
enough people do it, they'll speed things up a bit. Apple do respond
to a good buzz.
I respectfully submit that suggestions and complaints that we "hurry
up" won't be useful. We seed prerelease products to developers to
find bugs and get feedback, and we will ship the final iPhone SDK in
June when it's ready. Prerelease software is offered under
nondisclosure for legal and financial reasons, and it's unlikely that
suggestions, complaints, or violations of that agreement will cause
Apple to change that.
Chris
