I have defined File Type "text.ihtml" (as a child of "text.html") in Xcode

Now, when I add an ihtml file to a group, all is well. Coloring is lovely
HTML coloring and folding works. But the ihtml files (many) that were in my
project before I set up the ihtml definition are all still shown as plain
text.

I could get my coloring by deleting all the ihtml file references in the
Groups & Files tree and putting them back. But I wonder is there and easier
way? Can I somehow coax Xcode to regenerate its file-type metadata cache
from the file-system file names?

Try this: Select the old .ihtml files (all of them -- use shift- or command- click), and do a Get Info on them (the blue Info button in the toolbar, or command-I). General tab, File Type: popup, select text.ihtml.
