Feature. When you launch from Xcode 3.2, you're always going through GDB. Historically, the primary reason for using Run over Debug has been that it's much faster to Run - This is still the case in Xcode 3.2.


2. The build-progress circle at the right of the status bar opens up but
never shows any progress whatever although the files being compiled *do*
show at the left of the status bar. Is this just a picture of a progress
indicator or is it supposed to work?


I think that it might show percentage of your targets being built. Do you have more than one target? When in doubt, always file a bug report! Attach the project file (if you can, you can skip the actual source files), a full build log and perhaps also a movie of your screen while you reproduce the problem (captured using QuickTime Player).
