In our free time (not too much unfortunately) we are porting my old
NeXTstep braille driver. It was once (1994) known to be the best app
in the category. Our ambition is to make it again the most intuitive
and easy to use driver. We are talking also with several manufacturers
to start producing 3D and 2&1/2D braille-like hardware so that it makes
it possible to "visualize" pictures and 3D objects (the 3D driver will
work with GL too).
Once finished, the application will be free of charge, but we welcome
donations (financial and in form of various braille hardware). This
will help us to finish our package sooner. All donated hardware will be
later given to schools for visually impaired children in easton
European countries.
