Hello - I'd prefer to keep this discussion on the mailing list, as I
don't have the time to do direct support.
You should be able to get to the applet in Safari. I don't know why
you'd have to tab to the applet, as it is what is under the mouse that
is read aloud. This works in my testing.
Please follow up with DTS or the list. Thanks.

Hi Greg,
It just works as with any other native Mac OS X program, so long as
you are running Java 1.4.1 Update 1. It doesn't work with java 1.3.1.
I am not sure of update1 but I have 1.4.1 and am using Java Web Start.
please try it http://www.sonic.net/~star/Drs/Drs.html
1. Turn on Accessibility with System Preferences/Universal
Access/Enable access to assistive devices.
Have done that
2. Enable System Preferences/Speech/Spoken User Interface/Text under
the mouse
I did not have that option set but I set it and it did not help?
How do I navigate into the applet (tab does not recognize the applet)
FYI, it also works with Speech Recognition. Java AWT in 1.4.1 works as
well; it's based upon Cocoa so the implementation gets everything
accessible for free. I don't believe this is the case on other
platforms that support java.

Good Day,
I have a Swing JApplet and a Mac OS X machine. Can someone tell me
how
I
can make my machine read with voice a String in the applet or tell me
where I might find that info.
