AXTitleUIElement?
AXTitleUIElement?

What does the AXTitleUIElement attribute refer to, and what kinds of UI
elements does it apply to?
And the same questions as to AXColumnTitles
Since these are classified in the header as "miscellaneous" attributes, it
isn't obvious to what kind of UI elements they apply. If they relate to
table views, shouldn't they be listed in the AXConstants.h header in the
table view group? Similarly, if AXFileName is for windows, shouldn't it be
in the window-specific attributes group? Others that seem to relate only to
split views or steppers could profit from some indication of that fact, too.
Trial and error and reading through the Carbon and Cocoa documentation
hasn't helped me much with these.
Generalizing this, let me come right out and ask my real question: Would it
take a knowledgeable Apple engineer more than half a day to update the
"preliminary" Accessibility Reference for Assistive Applications? I wouldn't
think so. It would have saved me, and presumably a few other developers,
weeks of trial and error if it had happened a long time ago. How about it?
It seems to me that at this point the documentation should be at the top of
the priority list (except maybe for the screen reader project). I'm mindful
of Mike's recent post about documentation and I know how busy everybody is.
But it's almost crunch time to prepare your WWDC presentations, anyway, so
why not update the documentation today under the pretext of writing your
speaker's notes?
