Wouldn't a developer say, "bring window to front within its layer"? That
might work for a non-developer computer user, too, since they have
experience of window layering practically from the beginning.
But we have to distinguish between the one-word "descriptions" like "cancel"
and the multiword descriptions like "cancels menu action". Why do both forms
exist for two actions, but not for others? I use the one-word form for
localizable verbs that are equivalent to the action. The multiword forms are
adjective phrases, if I remember my grammar correctly, and would therefore
be used in a very different context.
And please note my question yesterday about whether the single-word
description of "raise" is supposed to be in the ActionDescriptions.strings
file. Shall I file a bug?
