From a quick-and-dirty test using UI Browser, it would appear that an
application can be introspective - that is, the UI can be driven by
internal code.
This could be of value to an application that supports a plug-in
architecture. The primary app would not necessarily need to provide a
suite of callbacks for the plugins (or expose them) - it could just
let the plugin drive it with the Accessibility framework.
So, the question becomes: is introspection a supported capability?
If so, a related question - are Quartz Event Taps?
