Post isn't clear about what you want to do regarding your difficulties.
For some people, a tactile overlay assists them with better using the iOS keyboards. Have a look at:

They make a simple screen protector that includes small dots at the positions where the virtual keyboard places keys. I know several people that use these, and the orientation cues that they provide help to increase their typing speed. I really like mine.
A virtual keyboard might never be as fast for VO users as a keyboard with physical buttons, but that's a tradeoff you have to make to use iOS. If the SpeedDots covers aren't enough, get a case with a slide-out keyboard, or wait to see if the speech recognition/dictation rumors pan out in iOS 5.
