I reported this bug to Apple's bug reporter this morning:
Bug ID# 12236378, 2012-09-05
Summary:
The AccessibilityDefinitions.plist file at /System/Library/Accessibility omits kAXIdentifierAttribute.
Steps to Reproduce:
Open /System/Library/Accessibility/AccessibilityDefinitions.plist and expand the Attributes listing.
Expected Results:
The new Mountain Lion accessibility API constant kAXIdentifierAttribute should be included.
Actual Results:
The new Mountain Lion accessibility API constant kAXIdentifierAttribute is omitted.
Regression:
The kAXIdentifierAttribute was introduced in OS X 10.7 Lion, if I recall correctly.
Notes:
Keeping the AccessibilityDefinitions.plist up to date with changes to the accessibility API is important and should be on your checklist for every new release of the operating system. I plan to rely on it in an upcoming version of my UI Browser product <http://pfiddlesoft/uibrowser>.
I previously submitted a similar bug for the kAXExtrasMenuBarAttribute.
