If so, how can I put in comments so that I remember what is what in the file which holds all of my different buttons, text boxes and radio buttons? I am doing this all through the main storyboard right now.
If you mean on iOS, yes. Standard CocoaTouch controls (those found in the Object library) that appear in your app will be identified by VoiceOver as buttons, switches, pickers, and so on. If you mean the storyboard, no. What I usually do is rename each one (press enter on it, type the name, enter). In the name, I say what it does, then its type. For instance, "edit button" or "users table view". That way I know what it does and what type it is.
