As Shane Stanley said, It costs money.
I use PS as a primary app in day to day work, and I actually appreciate
the effort being put into developing the app. Now, if there weren't any
third parties such as Main Event doing the AppleScript implementation then
it would really bother me.
As it stands, I think Adobe allowing a company that specializes in
AppleScript to do the work is great! I certainly think Main Event's
execution of the AppleScript implementation in PhotoShop is better than any
Adobe implementation I've ever seen.
Just to set thing straight though, PS does allow for a lot of control
through the 'do script' command. ( it really should've been 'do action' but
there's Adobe's implementation for you. 8^ )
