This is a known issue with scripts that get close to the 32K text size
limit, say, over about 28K. The solution is to use any of the common
techniques to break scripts into pieces -- Load Script, etc.
Does this explain your issue here, or is Scripter slow for you on the G4
even with smaller scripts that can be edited more speedily on another
machine?
