Greetings :-)
If this is old stuff, I apologize for repeating it. If not, I hope
it's useful to others. I find it invaluable for grabbing snippets of
code from email (particularly this list).
Barry Wainwright has created a couple of scripts which will take text
which has been selected in Eudora and put it into a window in Script
Editor or Smile. The scripts work by:
1. Creating (writing) a text file which contains selected text from Eudora.
2. Opening the text file in the script editor.
3. Based on the scriptability of the editor, it will attempt to
compile the text.
I've made some minor changes to one of the scripts to accommodate
Scripter PE (and I assume Scripter, if it also has a creator code of
MEme). For added convenience ,the new script will also attempt to
change the text file's creator to MEme. This step relies on Tanaka's
osax 2.0. If the osax isn't installed, the script will ignore the
relevant code and proceed. Scripter PE is not scriptable, so the
script doesn't attempt to compile the code.
FYI, I've also adapted this to work with a FileMaker Pro database,
which I use to store various snippets of code. If it saves a few
keystrokes, I like it. ;-)
The script is meant to run from Eudora 5's "Scripts" menu, but I
reckon it will also work using OSA Menu and/or possibly the OSA
Plug-in for Eudora. <shrug>
If you are interested in any of this, feel free to contact me
privately at <email@hidden>. I'm not going to blast the entire list
with unsolicited code any more. :p
Happy and/or Merry <insert appropriate celebration here> to You and Yours.
Later,
