Yes, I tried this myself and it works for me.

But I should have mentioned that I use a French Mac OS 8.6.
And that I have swapped the French words "Lanceur", "Tableaux
de bord" and "Dossier Systeme" with their English equivalents.

I can't possibly test the command in English, but the French one
works. No error message. No problem.


When I run this...
---
tell application "Finder"
windows
end tell
---
... the result starts with:
{window of file "Lanceur" of folder "Tableaux de bord" of folder
"Dossier Systeme" of startup disk of application "Finder", ...

So, it looks like the "Finder" (of Mac OS 8.6) does know something
about the window of the "Launcher", and this one seems to be a file.
