The "boring headers" filter matches beginning of headers, so you don't have to add all those list-... and x-... headers individually, just add an entry for "list-" and one for "x-" and you've cleaned up the clutter considerably.

John,

I, too, am using Eudora 4.3. I'll be upgrading to 5.0 sometime in the near future (I have the updater), but the "Boring Headers" options are available in all the 4.x versions of Eudora.

To add to the list of suppressed headers, open the "Settings" dialog, scroll down to the "Boring Headers" settings and you'll see a text area containing lots of header names. Add the ones from the new Apple list reflector that you don't want to see. Confirm the Settings dialog and re-open any messages with these intrusive headers and you'll find them gone. Now click the "blah blah blah" button in the message window's tool-bar (second from left up with the message's subject field). and these headers (and all other suppressed headers) will re-appear. Click the "blah blah blah" button once more and they'll disappear again.

Good luck.

Hi,

I can (and have) supressed the informative header fields inserted by the new list reflector. I cannot do this with added boiler-plate text within the body of the message. If I need to see a suppressed header field, I can just click the "blah blah blah" button and they'll reappear.

This is a great idea. I'm using Eudora 4.3, though, and the list items aren't in the suppressed header.

I don't see the connect in your point (c). How does styled text (which I'd like to have allowed) relate to informative headers or footers?

The point was that the list is limited in its functionality. Since *I* find the headers obtrusive they further limit the functionality for me. A bit abstract maybe.
