No, no, you shouldn't be sorry. You (and others) have convinced me that
you're right about why and how it works. If you hadn't persisted, I would
have learned nothing.
So, now I would like you to write this up as a tip for the "Tips" chapter of
The AppleScript Sourcebook. How about it?
