Your exposition of handlers as assignable objects is fascinating and
enlightening. I had missed the other thread about this, and it sure ain't in
the AppleScript Language Guide (as far as I can tell). It is clearly a
useful technique, and -- assuming it is reliable and will be maintained in
future versions of AppleScript; Chris Nebel seems to assure us of that -- it
should be documented in the ASLG. (I did, by the way, try Mark Alldritt's
script using Script Editor in Mac OS X Public Beta, and it worked there as
Mark described, just as in Mac OS 9's Script Editor.)
