I'm having troubles using the "choose folder" command when a Netware volume
is mounted.
When running my script in OS 8.6, I get a dialog that sez: "The sharing
window does not work with shared disk "VolumeX" because "VolumeX" does not
support Appleshare rights. Use another workstation to see and change
rights." This dialog cannot be dismissed while the script is running. You
have to hit command-. to terminate the script before the erroneous dialog
will go away.
Running the script in OS 9.0, the dialog pops up, and once again can't be
dismissed, but the erroneous message is content to be ignored. It doesn't
get in the way of the user selecting a folder on the mounted Netware volume
or the script doing its thing. Still, the message is annoying.
I'm using Netware 5.12 client for Mac and have administrative rights to this
volume. I never get this error when choosing files or folders manually. It
only raises its ugly head during script operation, and only then if I use
the "choose folder" or "choose file" command when a Netware volume is
mounted. I can hard code a path to the Netware volume and get away with it,
but that solution interferes with the user-interactivity of the script.
Can anybody provide guidance with this? Much appreciated!
Eric
