Outlook Express email archive script (was Re: applescript novice)

Scripts like this have already been written. Go to www.MacEmail.com and
search the Applescript database there for "archive".

Unfortunately, my experience with these scripts tells that they aren't very
reliable with large Outlook email databases - mostly due to problems with
the Applescript handling within Outlook Express itself. For example,
Outlook Express routinely runs out of memory during lengthy script runs -
even when I set the Outlook Express memory partition to 200 MB! Also, note
that these scripts do not save attachments.

Alternatively, I've found that simply dragging messages from the Outlook
Express folder list view to a folder in the Finder is quite satisfactory.
Outlook Express does not run out of memory in this case. The attachments
are saved in the files. The files are plain text so that you can search
them with a utility such as BBEdit. And you don't run into the many other
problems caused by Outlook Express's internal Applescript handling.
