To turn off This behaviour:
open Keyboard Control Panel, click the options button.
uncheck the checkbox to use command - option - space


More awkward, (and likely to conflict with numerous Apps.) is the Command
- tab App Switcher shortcut. You ought to change this one also.
Ironically, the way to get to this is via Apples Help system, you can
change the keyboard command via a script in Help folder named:

"SetKeyboardSwitching"
