Some versions of AppleScript cannot be installed successfully on older
systems. When this is true, this information is usually provided in the
Apple Technical Note for developers that is published with new system
versions. You can find links to all the Technical Notes for versions of
AppleScript released in the last four years in the several sections of the
"AppleScript" chapter of The AppleScript Sourcebook, along with lots of
information about features, bugs and compatibility.
