Short answer (for the list).

www.lists.apple.com and lists.apple.com have--at least for now--the same IP
address, according to the DNS lookup results.

Likewise, the two names lead to the same "mail exchangers" (three of
them...none of which is actually lists.apple.com unless that machine has
multiple IP addresses). But what happens once a message reaches one of
those mail exchangers is internal to Apple.
