List Address: why the "www"?

  • Subject: List Address: why the "www"?

This is a test to see if sending to the list works without the "www". All
mail coming from the new list address is without the "www".

All the new information says to post to:

To post to this list, send your email to:

email@hidden

It also says this on the new messages coming from the list.

But everything is actually being sent from:

email@hidden

without the "www".

When I set up my email program to file messages from the list in a
particular folder, it doesn't work if I say that the list's address is

email@hidden

It has to be without the "www" to work. But if I send I new message to

email@hidden

I need to see if it will get to the list. If the sending and receiving
addresses are different, this will mess everything up.

I would appreciate it if someone from Apple would clarify things (I have
written directly to the "postmaster" as well.) . Thank you. In the
meantime, if this message makes it to the list and back, then we can leave
out the "www". Perhaps it's simply a mistake to have listed it in the
address?
