Quitting QuickTime Player

I have discovered another problem: when "Presenting" a movie, the QuickTime
player ignores Quit Apple Events--you must press "Escape" first to interrupt
the presentation before it will subsequently quit!

This is easily verified by running the app manually.

Does anyone know of some way of interrupting the Present Movie option via
AppleScript so that the QuickTime Player can receive the Quit? Is there some
way to pass an "Escape" keypress to the app?

Thanks,

Martin Shields.
