If any of you are using Eudora Pro and you want to guillotine the
header from your AppleScript Users messages, there is relief
available.
I've butchered one of JDs scripts to make one that will remove all of
the headers from the message except the To, From, Subject and Date
fields (so you can reply if you want), after which you get the body
of the message.
It also trims off the short footer (works on the old footer if you
want to run it through your mail archive). And for messages sent from
a Yahoo or Hotmail account, it trims off those advert footers too. It
has the added side benefit that it strips the styling from any styled
text too.
Because of the way Eudora is set up, you can't actually strip out the
message headers (pity, footers come out easily), so the script is
actually making a new message with the essential bits and tossing the
old one having replaced it with one that has only the content. Since
the old message is in the trash, if you really need the full message
header you can get it there.
If you're interested in a copy, then send a message to me with the
words Header Relief in the subject line. Your message will be
filtered to a mail folder. About once a day I'll cut another script
lose on the folder and it will send you a copy of the script.
If you find any bugs, let me know. Don't blame JD - I take
responsibility for any bugs I may have introduced.
