I think that's representative of your "I did try to explain"
philosophy. Now, defend your decision to re-start the numbering at
v1, n1.
simple: until someone brought it up, it wasn't an issue. I was
working on fixing this this morning, in fact. I think digests should
now run as volume 2. And i filed two or three bugs on Mailman this
morning based on issues people brought up.
At last we are in total agreement. I'm done with this thread.

But in all seriousness, as I like to point out in these matters,
there are RARELY 100% solutions to problems, because no matter what
decision you make, it upsets someone. And that includes making no
decision.
But the only people I tend to have problems with are the ones who
believe their preferences are the only ones that matter. I have a
much larger view of reality, since I'm dealing with 50 lists and
40,000 users on this server. And one complaint doesn't veto the needs
of the rest of the users, and people who don't realize that are the
ones who usually don't enjoy dealing with me.
I'm *always* open to discussion. I'm not terribly interested in being
lectured at. Just like most of humanity.
